Didn't take many pictures along the way as the build progressed, but here are a few that I snapped (crappy cellphone pics). Recently moved, so I'm scrambling to build my reserves back up and will have all 8 flowing within a few weeks. Really happy with how it turned out and wish I had done this years ago! Many thanks to everyone on here that posted their experiences with their builds in the past. Very helpful and inspiring.:mug:

Nice job! What size freezer? Just getting into AG. Thinking kegging is the next logical upgrade.

Thanks! It was the largest freezer they had at Lowes....25 cu ft. I believe. I have my CO2 tank outside (more efficient) but 8 kegs only take up half the freezer leaving me plenty of space to lager and/or store bottles, grains, etc. It's actually pretty overkill, but I don't mind....lol

What type of black paint did you use for the outside of it? Did you paint directly on the freezer?

Forget exactly what it was called, but it was a paint specifically for appliances. Very thick, but 2 coats with a roller and it worked out well...looks original. They (Lowes/Home Depot) also sell the same stuff in spray, which may be easier for certain applications.

All I can say is THANK YOU! I showed my wife the build and she likes it so I have a green light to build one. Thanks again.

That is beautiful :rockin:
How did you mount the drip tray?

Thank you. I was originally going to get some decorative "L" brackets but ended up with generic silver due to no selection at home depot. Painted the brackets and epoxied them to the freezer. Ran a strip of thin/strong double sided tape along the back of the drip tray box for added support, although not needed once epoxy set. Metal tray pops out of the box for easy cleaning and it's solid as a rock. ... and no holes to worry about drilling. ...

get some more pics of drip tray install? i have mine sitting next to my keezer but havent figured out how i want to attach it.

cheers

Tried some rare earth magnets at first but it didn't feel solid enough for me. It's pretty heavy with two monster drip trays so that's when I decided to go with the 4" L shape brackets and epoxy those directly to the freezer. Then screwed the box to the brackets. It's not going anywhere now.
The box itself that holds the drip trays was made entirely out of scraps. It looks nice with the stain and trim, but it's nothing fancy....lol

Seems too. Plus I think it helps keep a more even temp within the large keezer. That big ole bucket of damprid doesn't hurt either. Always done dry.

Have you looked into the Eva-Dry portable dehumidifiers rather than the damp rid? They have a little indicator section that turns from blue (empty) to pink (full) as it absorbs water. Once it is full you take it out and plug it into an outlet overnight (has a fold out plug on the back). I check mine whenever I change kegs, usually getting around 30-45 days per cycle.

I have one in my (considerably smaller) kegerator and it works great.

Oh she's purty!!! I'm getting a nice used but ugly 15.8 cf freezer from CL this weekend, for a song. I might transmogrify it just like this.

Oh My!!!! This thread may have eliminated my need for internet porn. Could you send some private pics with her pouring? J.K. But she really does look nice, think I have a new project.

MAN!! I thought my 15 cu/ft monster was the end all......

I have 6 kegs and 2 co2 tanks, and I am a little squeezed to lager, but it can be done.....

Oh what the hell!!! I paid $50 for mine! :mug:

What are the lengths of the liquid lines?

I started with 10' and tested with different serving pressure and temp. Had the best results shortening the lines down to around 6.5', liquid lines that is. Gas is 8' inside and I have another 10' gas line run outside for quick easy access.
