I had to work out in Nebraska this week. While waiting for my flight out of Lincoln, I tried a couple of beers from Empyrean Brewing.
Their Third Stone brown ale was a very good beer.
Then I tried their Dark Side Vanilla Porter....WOW!
These guys have nailed this. It's not a robust porter, starts off smooth, slightly roasty. A hint of vanilla is there from the start, then increases in intensity, but never overpowers. It finishes with the vanilla on just the right note (for me anyway). Definitely one of the best beers I've had.
Next time out there, I may have to head into Lincoln to try some of their other brews.
Get some if you can.

They make several good beers. They also host a regular (monthly or bi-monthly) Homebrew contest, brewing the winners recipe on their system and serving it to the public. A pretty nifty local brewery!

Love me some Dark Side Vanilla Porter! Need to pick up some more next time I'm in Omaha..
