I just finished brewing my first all grain batch last night. Did NOT go as i was hoping it would, but all in all - valuable lessons learned and it will probably be drinkable. To that end I was thinking about dry hopping it w/ an ounce each of cascade and amarillo. What is the best time to add the hops? Should I put it in after primary starts to die down, as i add the yeast (bit late on that one but would be a lesson for next time), right after I rack it to a secondary, etc. Thank you for your help.

My order of preference:

1.) Keg
2.) Secondary (if you do one)
3.) late primary, after active fermentation is done and the beer is nearly clear

never early in primary.

When I dry hop, I add it to the secondary after fermentation has finished and about 3-4 days before I package. In my opinion, I get the most flavor from the hops when I bottle a few days after dry hopping.
