I have some ingredients hanging around and I was wondering what to do with them, so I'm thinking of brewing a Dopplebock hybrid. (What's the fun if there's no experimentation, eh? ) Anyway, I have 3 lbs. of Pilsen DME, along with some Motueka hops and a Czech Pils yeast, so I figured why not get crazy? I'll need to hit the LHBS to pick up a few ingredients this Friday. (I need a new bottle filler, anyway...) It won't be true to style, but I've always been more about experimentation and taste than cleaving to style, anyway. The planned recipe is as follows (I'll post notes as things progress);
4 lbs. Pilsen DME
2 lbs. Vienna
2 lbs. Munich
1 lb. Aromatic Malt
1 lb. Wheat Malt (for head retention)
2 lbs. Honey (added to fermenter at high krausen)
1 oz. Motueka (7.0% AA) FWH
