Does anyone have experience with Jun?

Hello, I have been brewing kombucha for a while and just switched to Jun. Jun is like kombucha but has a different scoby colony and ferments in green tea and honey. I have had two successful batches and then this third batch seems to be growing something.... This something does NOT look like a normal kombucha or Jun scoby. It is a fibrous, branching, interwoven mass with visible, course threads. Has anyone seen this before?
Additional info: the brew is only 4 days old, it still smells normal, there does not seem to be any fuzzy mold, and the old scoby seems ok.
