When I make my next batch with Blackberries in the primary, will I require any Pectic Enzyme.

I am a newbie, but have done a couple of short mead Kits, a JAOM, a apple Cyser in primary, and a Cranberry Honey Mead in primary, (made from honey and Pure Cranberry Juice. My next couple of batches will be Blackberry, but I am unsure if it needs help to clarify in a timely manner.

And when is the Pectic engyme added?

Thanks,

Joe

Not sure if it's needed, but it won't hurt. Add it in the beginning, 12 hrs before you pitch your yeast, for best results. You *can* pitch it later, but alcohol makes it works less effectively. If you add it after it's done fermenting, add a double dose.
