Made this from a 1/2" SS pipe cap. Total cost about $1.75 after tax. Haven't used it yet but will post follow up. No reason it should not work as intended.

Interested to see how this turns out. Looking to do something similar but I hadnt really thought about what I was gonna do. Please make sure to post pics of the final in use! What did you use to cut the opening?

I used a slitting saw on a vertical mill but am trying to come up with a way to do it for those that don't have assess to a mill. I'm pretty sure it can be done with a standard cut off saw with an abrasive wheel.
