Simple question. I've plugged in info at two different calculators, and got 2.7 oz vs. 4.2! Double IPA, 5 gallons, 67 degrees in fermentor as we speak. Northern Brewer suggests 2.4 volume and tastybrew says 1.9. Not sure where it SHOULD be at for a DBL IPA. I'm leaning towards the NB numbers. Trying to walk that fine line between bottle bombs and flat. What does everyone think?

I'm sure other more experienced brewers will have some better insight, but 1.9 seems a little low. 2.5 seems about where you'd want it? Beersmith says 4.39 oz for 2.5 volumes @ 68 F for 5 gallons and 1.9 volumes 2.78 oz, that is corn sugar by weight.

I'm sure you know this already but in case or for those who don't, my tip for achieving the desired level of carbonation when bottle conditioning is, measure your beer volume and corn sugar EXACT. If your actually bottling 5.25 gallons or 4.75 it's not going to come out as you planned! Ask me how I know!
