I have a Taylor thermometer that I have had forever and decided to calibrate it. Put it in boiling water and got a reading of 206. Wow! Adjusted to 212 and then decided to try it at 32. Got a reading of 40.
I have been mashing alot higher than I thought and that just sucks. Thermapen on the way.
Do you think that if it is off 6 degrees in that 180 degree range that it may have only been off maybe 2 around mash temp? Damn.
