They are promoting the "Growler" as a great way to sample local beer. This site reaches a lot of people who may not be all that much into beer like us. So I think it is great how they teaching people who may not know. Growlers are fun, specially when you have a group of people and get a variety.

Yeah, I saw that the other day. I also noticed that they recently had an article on the Open Source BrewTarget software. They seem to have an audience that is interested.

I'd love to see the guy who reads that article and thinks, "Great! I can save money on great beer!" only to end up where we all are, mountains of dollars later and hopelessly addicted.

Years ago I played with the idea to start homebrewing and then sort of just forgot about it. It was that same article last year that got me interested again and finally took the plunge. Although I never anticipated saving any money, I never imagined I'd be spending this much

I agree, I like to save money. But I assume that I will spend way more in my quest to produce good beer than I would if I just drank.

However, I am much happier now with this new hobby :rockin:
