Hey all,

I had an idea today as I ponder building my counterflow chiller setup. I'm going to need a way to push the wort from the kettle, through the cfc and into the pf. Gravity won't be enough and I was heading toward buying a pump.

Today it struck me... why not dump the boiling wort into a corny keg, seal it up, and then push it through the cfc system with CO2? Do you think this would work/have issues?

Thanks!

Why won't gravity be enough? A slow feed is actually more helpful to reducing the temperature.
Unless you are doing a smallish patch, a corny probably won't be large enough.

Well, boiling hot sticky liquid under pressure, no, I can find the money for a pump faster than I can say "call me an ambulance". Sealing the hot liquid into a corny keg, steam, CO2 ..... nope, nope, nope.

Why do I get the idea I have been trolled.
