I'm building a 15 gallon stainless steel HERMs system and I'm an American currently stationed in South Korea. Let's just say I've paid a lot in shipping. I've built a DIY kegerator and I have a 5 Lb. CO2 Tank from a US supplier but I can't have a full tank shipped so I've been looking for a place to get it filled here in Korea.

Following advice from Reddit, I was able to find a supplier near Pyeongtaek by searching Waze for "industrial gas" or 산업가스 . I went to check it out but it was closed (today is Sunday). I did see a Bongo truck loaded with gas on the way home and decided to follow it but I think it was an LPG delivery guy. I spoke to him and he pointed at the threads on my tank and said No. So I'm thinking I might need some kind of adapter in order to fill it here.

There was something mentioned in this thread (https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/threads/co2-issues.356180/) about changing out a nut to use Korean CO2 tanks with US regulator. I checked the mentioned Williams Brewing but didn't see anything super indicative.

My research indicates that US threads should be CGA 320.

I believe this product might be what I'm looking for (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C78GYS6). It lists Korea as using the other ends standard of DIN 477.

Is anyone well versed in compressed gas cylinders and international standards? I have not spoken to Seoul Homebrew because I'm not very close to Seoul. I have asked several bar owners in the area where they get their CO2 but their 20 Lb. tanks just get delivered and swapped out.

I don’t know anything about international gas cylinders, but a google search produced this...

I’m not sure if this is what you’d need. Hopefully you can find a solution.

Now I’m not sure about the provided link... some other searches show parts for Europe /Asia (except Korea) hardware.
Note the “except Korea”
There are parts to convert US regulators to work on Korean valves but not the other way around.
I may have spoken out of turn. Sorry

FYSA for expats in Korea. There is a place in Pyeongtaek at this address : 통복동257-4

He doesn't speak any English but I put him on the phone with someone who is bilingual. He was able to take my US Standard tank directly to the fill station and then I picked it up a few hours later for 20,000 won.
