if i used 6lb of apples, 4kg sugar, 5 gallon water and champagne yeast would it be classed as cider or more of a wine?

Thanks jackalak

I would class it as nasty!

6 lbs of apples might make a gallon of apple juice (I've never juiced them, so really don't know), + 9 lbs of sugar in 5 gallons will give you an OG of about 1.100. Potential for 14% abv with no taste.

One gallon of apple juice and five gallons of water??? I'm new to the process but that sure sounds watered down. Someone please explain how this works...

Very watered down. Good cider would probably never use more than 20% water. Great cider is 100% juice. You might want to put some apple concentrate in when its done - so it actually tastes like apples.
