Hey guys, i've been aging this cider fir a year now and was ready to bottle when I noticed that it turned dark. Any thoughts? Did it go bad? I'll be opening them this weekend to find out.

Been stored in basement, dark room, round about 70 degreesF

Based on other similar posts in the past, it has oxidized.
Super dark cider… help
Great, so I have somehow managed to ruin 12 gals of good cider. I'm confused on this. Any help would be appreciated for my next batches.

I sterilize everything, every time I use it. I use a racking cane from one jug to another. I limit head space as much as i can. How do you prevent this?

So to prevent this in future batches, I should add sorbate and kmeta correct?

Light colored beers and cider always look darker “in bulk” in a carboy than they do in a glass. I’ve seen other threads where people ask why it got dark and what they were seeing was the yeast settled out and the beer/cider dropped clear.

As previously said, taste it and see. So many people are quick to jump on the oxygen boogeyman. It may be, but don’t assume.
