ok, i brewed a nice thick stout a couple weeks ago, and i'm about ready to throw it in secondary with some chopped up vanilla beans that have been sitting in vodka for two weeks.

i am looking to get a nice pronounced chocolate flavor with this one. The question i have is, should i add the cocoa with the vanilla in the secondary? or should i add it at kegging time?

pros/cons to both?

yeah, that was what i was scared about with adding it at keg-time.

it's gonna spend at least two weeks in secondary, regardless, so that might be the best way to go about it. i figured on boiling it up like it was priming sugar and racking onto it and the vanilla vodka mixture.
