Let me start by saying I am new to kegging...
I recently traded for a keezer that is built from a 7.1 cubic foot chest freezer... It has two towers, each with two taps... I'm not sure why the guy installed four taps because the freezer would only hold 3 kegs... Anyway, I installed a collar so I could fit the fourth keg on the shelf over the compressor.
On to my problem... The original lines were virtually unused so I decided to use them... however, I could smell and taste plastic in the beer. So, I decided to replace them. I ordered Ultra Barrier Silver 1/4"ID lines from MoreBeer... the problem is that the shanks on the taps are 3/16"... the original lines were 3/16"ID... Now all my pours are VERY foamy... but taste great with no smell of plastic.
Should I go back to 3/16" lines? Should I change the shanks on the taps? I need help...:smack:
