Can you use cane Sugar to carb with?

Short answer, yes...you can use pretty much anything containing sugar. Use a priming sugar calculator, like THIS to figure out how much to use.
 
not much more to add, except use the 2nd line (sucrose) in that NB calculator for table sugar

and definitely measure by weight, not by volume
 
I've bottled about 100 batches with sucrose. Works great. I've never weighed the sugar. Just use about 5/8 cup per 5 gallons -- somewhere between 1/2 and 2/3 cup. Equates to 2 tablespoons per gallon. It doesn't get much easier than that. And it works very well.

I had issues with flat batches until I switched to weighing my priming sugar.
