I have a 5 gal. recipe that I want to make into a 10 gal. recipe. Can I simply double it or will I need to make a few adjustments to make it work?

Thank you for your help,
Scott

Doubling does not account for lower efficiency of larger grain amounts. System adjustments might be needed.

Also, it assumes you have the capacity to boil the full volume in both cases with the same boil-off rate. If those are different your gravity during the boil will be different as well, which changes your hop utilization.

You can double a recipe, triple it, halve it, reduce it by 40%, etc., whatever you like. With the qualifications mentioned above, everything scales.
