Can dry hops release dissolved CO2?

Last week I brewed a best bitter, but forgot to add about .8oz of goldings at the end of the boil for aroma hops. I added them into the primary as dry hops 1 week later, after fermentation. My hydrometer read 1.010 so I believe it was done. However since I've put the dryhops in, now 3 days ago, the I've seen steady airlock activity. These are pelleted hops. Can the hop pellets release dissolved CO2 in the beer? Like mentos in diet coke?:rockin: If, not I hope I don't have an infection...

Yes, any kind of agitation will release the CO2 that is in solution.

Yup, it's not only agitation but also nucleation points just like the old Mentos in soda trick.
