Can dry hops release dissolved CO2?

Last week I brewed a best bitter, but forgot to add about .8oz of goldings at the end of the boil for aroma hops. I added them into the primary as dry hops 1 week later, after fermentation. My hydrometer read 1.010 so I believe it was done. However since I've put the dryhops in, now 3 days ago, the I've seen steady airlock activity. These are pelleted hops. Can the hop pellets release dissolved CO2 in the beer? Like mentos in diet coke?:rockin: If, not I hope I don't have an infection...
