Just a tid bit the Washington Captials owner Ted Leonisis just releaced a "Verizon Center" App for the iphone. The VC is were the Caps, Wizards and Georgetown Hoyas play. Leonisis is a huge s upporter of technology and blogging for sprots. He's very open with press access as well. As a Caps fan I appriiciate it since it makes the fan experiences that much better I haven't checked it out yet but it seem to fit part of your research.
