I've got a harbor freight nearby and went to go look at casters for a single tier. How much weight should each caster hold? I was thinking of 6 casters at 200lb capacity. Would that be enough to support all the brewing weight? Obviously the weight will be distributed.

Thanks

Are you going 10 gallon batches? Larger?

Water weighs 8.3 lbs per gallon. Figure your average weight of grain per batch.

Some info on weight per linear foot of square tubing.

You're probably using smaller than 3/16 wall so will be less than 4 lbs per foot. Figure 50 feet of tubing. So 200 lbs worst case for tubing.

I'd say you are fine with 4 casters 200 lbs each. One in each corner.

A lot of casters are rated in dynamic weight too. So it doesn't mean the stand won't support more - it means the casters just won't roll.

Yeah this is initially for 10 gallon batches. Then eventually I'll consider doing 15. The casters will also need to be bolted on the tubing which is 1 1/2" wide. However the casters are slightly larger than that, so I'll need to add some brackets or something
