Hi Everyone,

I am brewing my 2nd batch of beer. The batch that I am brewing calls for Bourbon soaked oak chips to be added into the secondary. My question, do I need to sanitize the Mason jar that will be holding the bourbon and oak chips or will the alcohol in the bourbon kill off any bacteria?

Thanks,

Most sanitizers take about 2 minutes to properly sanitize glass. The bourbon would probably take care of any bugs that were left after the jar was clean, but for 2 extra minutes you can be sure.. Sanitize anything that will be in touch with or will hols something that will be in contact with your product.
