I have just got a new fridge, which means my old one is freed up to try making lager. Up till now i brew in the bag ale and stout along with mead for the last 10 years. I'm trying to keep it cheap and just pick up an STC-1000 for £8 and wire it up. My question is i have a brew belt i have used for ale in the Scottish winters. Do you think i can save money buy using the brew belt round the fermenter in side my fridge wired into the STC-1000. I don't want to blow my £8 budget on a new heater.

Yes, absolutely.

I just close the fridge door on the cord and it works fine.
