Just acquired a freshly dumped 10-gallon brandy barrel.

Looking for suggestions on non-sour beer styles that would work well in the barrel.

Sour will come after 3 clean batches through the barrel.

I'd personally go with either a big stout or a barleywine, and I'd probably lean more toward barleywine.
 
I personally would do a barley wine 1st then maybe a Belgian quad next. Belgian funk tends to linger.
 
All seem to be in line with my thinking.

I was thinking of an American Strong Ale/Barleywine a la Angel's Share (and come to find out they age some batches in brandy barrels) for the first pass, then a Belgian Quad for the next. Third will likely be my Porter recipe that I've used in bourbon before.
