hello fellas

i have a quick question, has anyone used black tea in a cider?

my plan is to add more color to my cider, right now i have a one gallon jug fermenting of just apple juice and sugar SG-1070 i was planing to make a 5 day sweet cider but normally it become a light yellow color cider, it taste amazing but i would like to give more brown color to the cider.

i think 2 tea bags will make the job but i dont know how the taste of fermented tea will impact the cider final taste.

the plan is to make a 1/2 cup of water with the 2 teabags and a 1/2 teaspoon of yeast nutrients.

any advice?

Tannins from tea may be noticeable. If you look in this forum, you can find a few threads that talk about black tea in cider for tannins.

I'd probably try something else that would lend a darker color. Maybe a very small amount of hibiscus flowers would add some darkness without turning it pink or purple.
