Hello,

I was brewing BIAB today and accidentally got to 175 degrees for mash out temp. I added cold water to get it down over about 5 minutes. Should I be concerned? I did check my pH after mash out and it was 5.57. It was 5.46 during the mash.

No problem, you need a pH over 6 to go along with that temperature before you need to worry but do you understand the why of a mashout? You need a mashout when you are fly sparging to stop the enzyme action when the sparging will be at mash temp for perhaps an hour. You don't need it for batch sparging nor do you need it for BIAB. You may extract a little more sugars because the mash is hotter but it would be minimal.
