Hey guys,

I am new to brewing. I have brewed one IPA before from a recipe pack but this time I wanted to do a smash because I want to learn the flavors of the hops and malts that go in it. As this is a experiment I wanted to do a small batch so if it does not turn out good I wont be too sad about disposing it!
I do like my juicy IPA so I wanted to trial using Mosaic ( i had used cascade, centennial and chinook in the previous brew) for this one as it has some juicy goodness. (maybe next time i will use citra, amarillo and galaxy). So i want to make this is a hop forward IPA without it being too bitter.
So here is the recipes i was thinking of. I used Brewers friend to create the recipe. Please let me know which one should i use to have hop forward beer with citrusy flavors and nose. Also what should i change?

BIAB
US 05 yeast

Recipe 1:
Batch Size: 5L / 1 gallon
OG: 1.062
FG: 1.0.16
ABV 6.12%
Efficiency: 70%
IBU: 65

1.4kg/3lb - MO pale malt

5g/0.17oz Mosaic hops @60min
10g/0.35oz @ 10min
10g/0.35oz @ flame out 0min
20g/0.7oz Dry hop 5th day for 5-7days.

Mash in 68C for 60min
Mash out 77C for 15min

Recipe 2:

Batch Size: 5L / 1 gallon
OG: 1.062
FG: 1.0.16
ABV 6.12%
Efficiency: 70%

1.4kg/3lb - MO pale malt

5g/0.17oz Mosaic hops @60min
10g/0.35oz @ flame out 0min - Start whirlpool by hand for 1min hopstand for 30min. Temperature will continue to drop naturally.
10g/0.35oz after 30min hopstand. Set the temperature to 77C then, Whirlpool by hand for 1min and hopstand for 20min. Reduce to temperature to pitching temps after 20min.
20g/0.7oz Dry hop 5th day for 5-7days.

With my IPAs and SMaSHs I usually do...

@ 60 mins
@ 30 or 20 or 15 mins
Drop the temp to around 160F, and do a 20 - 30 min whirlpool
5 day dryhop

if you are looking for a big hop flavor and aroma, I would probably do my second addition at 15mins.
