I just upgraded my batch sparse system to include a pump. I plan on brewing next weekend and would like to know how much temp I'm going to loose to hose and pump. I'm sure there is no way to know 100% until I experiment but I am curious if others can shed some light.

if you recirculate your sparge water as you are heating you will lose little to none. If your HLT does have a return port you can simply drap the hose back over the top into the kettle then clamp it or put the lid on it. by recirculating the HLT sparge water for a few minutes you will preheat the hose/pump setup.
