Hi there,
I've got a barley wine which has finished active fermentation and needs to be racked into a secondary. However, I haven't had the time. I'm just curious how long it can sit in the primary fermenter (a 5 g glass carboy) before it will need to be moved over.

Thanks

A month wouldn't be a problem, it's probably still fermenting slowly and will for another 2-3 months.

At what temp is the big question. 70 or below and 4, maybe 6 weeks you'll be fine.
