Could you use this yeast for brewing?

Will it ferment sugar? Yes
Will it taste good? Probably not
Will it clear quickly? No

Dry brewers yeast is cheap and specifically designed to taste good and clear quickly. I would spend the extra $2

You would get some fermentation, but you would get some pretty awful beer. I tried this once on a basic smash, just to see how it would work. Extremely strong sulfur smells and utterly undrinkable beer, that also refused to clear.

Not a good idea in my opinion.

Thanks guys. Just checking. Working in a kitchen we have a lot. And if it would work I would have tried it. But since it won't I'm not going to.
