I'm trying to brew my first Oktoberfest and since I'm running low on time and don't wanna bring my keezer up to 55dF for primary fermentation I'm gonna make an ale. Whatcha guys think of this recipe I threw together?

Will .1 # of crystal really add anything to a 5 gal brew though? Maybe up the vienna and ditch the crystal altogether. If you want a caramel flavor, perhaps decoction is the way to go.

-just a noob's $.02. Done a lot of reading, have very little experience.

Its mainly to add a bit more color which it does very well (1.2 SRM for .1#) and body. Vienna adds very little color so it wouldn't be able to replace it for this purpose. However I'm not stuck on keeping crystal as I can still keep it within the color range I'm looking for, just a bit lighter. I'm trying to stay within the marzen beer style as much as possible and as orange as possible.

Looks tasty to me man, and I like the idea of doing an Ale in an Oktoberfest fashion!

I don't think you can go wrong with some good old 2 row, Munich, Vienna and some Hallertau. Let us all know how it turns out!
