I have a recipe that calls for half an ounce of Kent Goldings hops at flameout. Going through my beautiful big box 'o hops I found that I've got 2 different packs of KG, but with quite different alpha acid percentages -- 4.5% and 7.2%.

Any insight out there as to what effect using one over the other would have when it comes to adding for aroma? I understand the different in % when it comes to bittering, but does it make any difference when it comes to aroma?

For flameout or dryhopping I wouldn't worry about the AA%. However, I try to use my freshest hops for both, and use my older stash for the long boils (bittering).

Thanks Hammy! Freshest hops it is, I'll raise a pint to you when this brew is done!
