I got an aquarium pump a while back to use for aeration. I have not used it yet though because I am concerned that the rubber/plastic smell in the air it puts out will affect the beer.

I made a thick filter of wet cotton balls, but that didn't help. I also ran it for about 24 hours to try to get the smell out, but that didn't help at all.
I am thinking of letting it run for a couple of weeks to get rid of the smell.
Has anyone had an aquarium pump contribute any off flavors to their beer, specifically from the rubber smell?
