Planning a last-minute sour beer and my LHBS doesn't carry any Brettanomyces

I swung by the liquor store and grabbed a bottle of most of their sour beers. Are any of these known to contain live Brett that I could culture up from the dregs to make a starter?

Goose Island - Lolita
Collective Arts - Jam Up the Mash
Mayflower - Resistance is Fruitile
Dogfish Head - Sea Quench Ale
Honest Weight - Recurring Theme

Never tried any of those because they are not available where I live but for the descriptions I would bet they have at least lacto, maybe some are kettle sours, you can taste them and have some DME at hand and make a starter if you notice any brett flavour

Or maybe someone has already tried them and can tell you if they have Brett in it

They all are lacto based sours, No Brett in any of them. They are possibly kettle soured so there’s a strong chance the lacto has been terminated. If you want to make a sour without Brett then you might as well use probiotic pills for your culture. If you’re looking for Brett’s to brew with, I’ve been using Yeast Bay. They have a great big selection and shipped from Ca to me in NY In 3 days

found some info indicating Goose Island Lolita is brewed with a Brettanomyces culture:

"

  • Lolita is a rose-colored Belgian Style Pale Ale fermented with the wild yeast Brettanomyces and aged in wine barrels on 30,000 pounds of fresh raspberries, sourced locally from a family farm in Michigan. Aromas of fresh raspberries, bright jammy fruit flavors and a crisp, refreshing body make Lolita ideal for beer drinkers fond of Belgian Framboise. Lolita is 8.2% alcohol by volume and develops in the bottle for up to 5 years.

What the brewers say
“Lolita is a Belgian-style pale ale fermented with wild yeast and aged on raspberries in wine barrels. Aromas of fresh raspberries, bright jammy fruit flavors, and crisp, refreshing body.”
What our panel thought
Aroma:
“Lovely aromatics—floral, honey, berry, and light pineapple with a bit of apricot and cherry. Mild sweaty Brett goodness and more as it warms.”
Flavor: “Flowers first with delicate berry notes, moderate jammy notes and acidity, some sweet malt, light lemon zest, and big raspberry. Fruit tannins and acidity help balance the sweetness. Just enough bitterness to round things out with some Brett in the aftertaste. Light tannic notes add structure and support fruit and sour notes. High tartness with a slight “fresh hops” note.”
Overall: “This is a big fruity, jammy beer, with supporting acids and Brett-derived fruit notes such as pineapple. Fruit lovers should drink it cool, while Brett lovers should let it warm up to bring out more funk. The initial taste up front reminds me of homegrown hops. It would pair well with pan-seared salmon or spicy tuna rolls, and it would be a great marinade for ceviche.”

I'm going to pitch the dregs and see if I can get a culture going

Good to know. Thanks for the update on that

of these beers, appears that the Lolita and Recurring Theme are the only ones with brett. middle three are all lacto-only sours.
