My LHBS has an English mild on draft with cocoa puffs incorporated. When I saw the tag with "cocoa puffs mild" written on it I was skeptical to say the least. However, it was one of my favorite beers I've had in a long time. So I should disclose that the idea of this recipe belongs to the owner of the Pump House in Struthers, Ohio. The recipe that follows is my version of it. (5 gal)

7.625 lbs Vienna Malt (92%)
5.4 oz Crystal 80 (4%)
3.5 oz Chocolate Malt (3%)
1.2 oz Black Malt (1%)

0.75 oz Willamette (4% AA) 60 min
0.75 oz Willamette (4% AA) 30 min

1 11.8 oz box of Cocoa Puffs boiled down in about 2 qts of water.
1/2 added during mash & 1/2 added during last 5 min of boil.

Safale S-04 English Ale Yeast

Mash 1 Hour @ 155F

Assuming 70% efficiency this gives (not including cocoa puffs):
OG 1.042
FG 1.011
ABV 4.1
IBU 21.6
SRM 17.2

My actual OG post boil today was just under the predicted at about 1.0415 including the cocoa puffs.

I have absolutely no idea how much fermentable sugar cocoa puffs contain but I would venture to guess that my FG won't be much above what is predicted.

Please don't hesitate to make any comments; I will keep this thread updated as to the status and results of this brew.
