Specialty malts aside, has anyone brewed both a 50/50 2row/wheat and 40/60 2row/wheat?

I say specialty malts aside, as my bill is going to be about 15% specialty.

Having a hard time deciding on the base ratio though of 2row and wheat.

Thoughts, pros, cons, preferences appreciated.

My American Wheat is 60/40 2-row to wheat malt. After that, I usually add a little bit of Crystal 15L and/or honey.

I don't think there will be much difference between 50/50 and 40/60 (or 60/40). So go for 50/50 and be sure to use rice-hulls (at least 1/2# per 5-gal).

Good luck!

I am brewing one today that has 6# 2 Row and 4 # Wheat malt. It's a great place to start. Adding some Crystal or Honey malt is awesome. Or some real honey. A quirky special malt also works well (Special B) for instance. Who says wheats have to be pale?'vb

Been brewing this recipe with single hop bills recently and just switching varieties. It's awesome and ranges from very Oberon-ish to very Gumballhead-ish depending on the hops, for 10g batch...

10# 2-row
12# Red wheat
1# Caravienne
