So, I got a brew pot off craigslist. Aluminum. I cleaned it with oxyclean. Mistake now I know, everything tastes metallic. Last week I filled it up and boiled water in it for about an hour and a half, it's pretty grey now. Should it be good to go to brew in? Just got some ingredients and don't want to ruin (another) batch.
Is there a way to test it out before I brew?

You should be good to go
I've been using aluminum forever with no ill effects

Ageed you should be good to go now. Sounds like you know about the oxidation layer that is needed with Aluminum pots. No oxy, starsan, or bleach should be used. A tad dish washing soap and a thorough rinse is all you need since a brew kettle sanitizes itself during the boil.

Thanks guys! Getting ready to brew!
