Well, ladies and gents, it appears that I might have brewed my first dud batch. I started a blackberry mead and I racked it onto the blackberries today. I put four large berries into primary with raisins and cinnamon. I could taste strong raspberry-ness already and I must have gotten a couple of particularly potent cinnamon sticks cause it was preeeetty strong. Not sure how this is gonna go. Also, I lost a lot more volume than I thought in primary. In a gallon carboy, it only fills it halfway. Not real sure how to make up the difference.

Not good.

Add more blackberries?

Did you add 4 pounds of blackberries or just 4 berries? How did you loose a half gallon of wine? WVMJ
