Location
Big Rapids
The arrow pierces deep,
slender cedar shaft feathered and notched
penetrating, breaking, running.

Dimness and fading,
Tramping, trailing, seeking.

Triumph and tragedy,
Remorse and feasting.

cool! can i play?

$hit Shops
& doo-wops
in backcorners
of bars
Snappy Fingers
Jazzy lingers
Jazz clubs
& Irish pubs
Big bands
& fast hands
Blow horns
& pluck baselines
Slicked over
Cold & sober
Thinking of tomorrow
Rolling stones
Never moan
Remembering yesterday
Sippin' drips
& smokin sticks
Enjoying today

The rub is deep
coat the meat
Two Twenty Five or so
let it go
for hours on end
your patience spent
apple sticks
Hickory chips
give their last
a final gasp
you rip and shred
it's done and said
sitting there in front of you
a plate of amazing Bar-B-Que

come on, we three poets? Thats it? all that mead and barley flowing and just three?

This is the title poem from my book,

I cannot keep up with all these thoughts
Fast and ferocious, tight and taught
Deep and dark, easily missable
Forever trying to capture every syllable
Poems of Prose, seductive verbs
Playfully floating like a flock of birds
Waiting for that inspiration
creating my next incantation
Words and words string a story
A million thoughts, never one boring
Searching forever for a place to call home
I think I've found it inside of a poem

If this thread lives I'll try to get the hunter cooker theme revived!
