A concept that to me, explains why HBT is amazing.

Here is a video of a TED speech. It somewhat explains group colaboration for ideas in peoples spare time. When I listened to it I thought of HBT. We all share ideas to help progress our knowledge and others at the same time. Very interesting speech.

Interesting linking consumerism with the 'media age' so to speak. seems obvious, but I hadn't put my finger on it before. The new collaborative climate that is developing, especially on the internet, is definitely changing the mindset of the masses, if only a little bit so far.

I think it stems from the "me" mindset of consumerism that has resulted in lots of selfishness and entitlement mentality, versus the (slightly) more community focused trend of technology of late.

It's much more fun to tackle a problem or complete a project as a group, and that's part of what we're doing here. Long live HBT.
