So I've been wanting to try and brew an IPL. Below is the recipe I have been tossing around. If anyone has any input as far as grain bill, hop schedule, anything I'd appreciate it. *Dare I say this is my first attempt at a lager as well. Using my kegerator with stc1000 so I should be able to control ferm temps w/o issue. Thanks!

Looks like a good start , I like IPA's and I'm also doing my 1st APL (just finishing primary now) I backed off on some bittering hops because the clean lager yeast will let more malt and hop and bitter come through . I'm trying a balanced bittering and a forward aroma dry hop.
Should be good...
I'm sure you know ale yeast can mask bitter, malt, and aroma flavors, lager yeast lets it all hang out there baby! I'd stay on the conservative side with hops, if it finishes out less hoppy than you like; dry hop again for a few day....

Dial 'er in and keep us posted, sounds like a great foundation.

Hello,
may I ask if you liked those beers? I brewed yesterday a lager with german pils and munich, heavily hopped with amarillo and cascade and is now fermenting with Safale.
Thank you for your feedback!

I don't want to be a downer but....I tried a very simular recipe (Schwarts Bier with extra hops). The beer was good, but in a IPL style, I personally don't think it was worth all the extra time & effort to lager that. I can get very close results making a IPA with a good yeast or a hybrid yeast and a little cooler primary temp.

Keep us posted & good luck.
