I am not at all new to wine making and I have seen several post lately referring to 1/3 rule and have never heard of such . Is it a beer make thing some people are applying to wine? If it is a rule, why havent I heard it.Enlighten me and then explain why it exists and why it matters?????
 
I never get 1/3 to aging and if I drank 1/3 I would be dead. I made 120 gallons last year. 1/3 would be 40 gallons.
