OK, I made a rather rookie mistake yesterday. After transferring my wort to the primary I took a gravity reading, and it was way too low (should have been 1.052 and read about 1.032). I pitched and put the lid on the fermenter anyway. After thinking about it, I realized after I topped off the wort with water, I never stirred it. I have done this before, and after stirring, the gravity was where it should be ... so I am not concerned about that.

My question is .... will this affect fermentation at all? It has only been in the fermenter for about 12 hours, should I stir it, or just leave it alone??

If it makes you feel better, go ahead and swirl it. The fermentation process, which prob already started, will mix it up just fine.
