I want to use cherries in my next stout and was wondering what the best way to use them would be. My idea was to pit them, mash them up a bit and put them in the boil at 60 minutes. Is there a better way to impart cherry flavor? I don't want it to overtake the stout just be around. Also is a pound enough for a 5 gallon batch? thanks for any info
