Anyone find it strange that Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale, an IPA, is for the holidays? What about it makes it a holiday beer? The label? I'd think an Oatmeal Stout, Doppelbock, or Barleywine would better qualify. Anyone got any insight?

It's all about marketing & giving the hopheads something to drink with their fruitcake. I'll stick with the winter warmers, like Widmer's Snowplow and Black Panther Imperial Stout.
