I've searched around for an answer, sorry if this has been posted before.

I'm in the process of planning a keezer (Wooden collar, yada yada...) Right now I'm just using a refrigerator with a cobra tap.

I hope to keep the Co2 tank outside the keezer. I have a dual regulator as of now. I am planning on installing three taps although the freezer has room for 4 cornies (well more if a put a big enough collar on it but I want some storage room too.) A few questions:

Assuming that I will keep the serving pressure the same on two of the three kegs:

1) How do you propose I do it? Regulator outside, two hoses in and one hose to a "t" or manifold? (was also thinking about manifold so I can serve three and force one.)

2) Is there some sort of shank I can use for the gas? I'm not sure I like just running the lines through the collar.

3) Efficiency: Should I plan on insulating or caulking around the shank or line in the collar? ...or am I overplanning this.

Thanks for your help. All suggestions are appreciated!

A good place to start getting ideas for your kegerator build is here:

I'm in the process of building my own kegerator now and I plan to use caulk only around the base of the wooden collar. I figure I can always go back and add caulk elsewhere if this doesn't work out.

Thanks! I've been checking out that thread for days now. It's like kegerator porn! I've even seen builds with the same freezer I'm using. I'm planning a double hinge system below and above the collar, so minimal caulk except for the shanks.

Sorry for the bump guys. Figured many are at work and closer to a computer now. I'm still wondering if there is some sort of gas shank I can use rather than running the line through the collar.

I'm probably going to order one of these for my keezer also... it will make moving the keezer and/or changing the C02 tank much easier since you can disconnect the C02 tank quickly and easily.
