So the corks can "re-expand" a bit after being compressed into the bottle. After three days, you can lie them down to keep the cork moist.

Well if you're already experienced with beer... I always do up a portion of my wine in beer bottles with regular crown caps. Having smaller potions around is handy. I like to make little sample packs with different flavors for my friends and family.
