So amongst the BMC crowd this is a lost art. When I began my drinking career, there was no such thing as a twist off. Pretty much every BIC lighter would have their bottom edges rounded off from popping caps off bottles and we tended to get rather creative in how we'd open the little suckers.
I saw a video a while back on YouTube where they were using CD ROMs to knock the top off so I gave it a try. Believe it or not, it can be done without ruining the disc. There is a very high probability you will ruin it, so make sure it's a coaster before you try, but it does work.
Sure, there were staples like the lighter, molars, other bottles, (even actual openers) but what creative ways did you (or do you) use to get the little metal disk off your beverage?
I actually hung a red bandana out of my back pocket that was attached to a 'church key'. Yes, I was a young *********.
