heat stick placement?

hi,

I´m building a electric system and I´m about to put a 3KW heat stick into
my HLT. I wondering how far from the bottom the optimal placement would be.
I was thinking about 5 cm/1,9inch from the bottom of the vessel. would that be ok

Do you mean mounting the electric element directly in the pot? If so than you want it as close to the bottom of the pot as possible without touching. If it's a "heatstick" in the sense of an electric element mounted to a piece of pipe that is removable from the vessel then I don't know.
