I have a 10lb steel CO2 tank currently and was trying to get another tank just for backup/adding to my setup...I came across an opportunity to purchase a 20lb ALUMINUM CO2 tank for $75 and the hydro is good until Sept 2010.

Should I go for it? It seems like a pretty good deal to me since I got a 10lb steel one from ebay for like $70 or $80, can't remember exactly.

:cross:

Go for it, that sounds like a decent deal. You can do just as well for about the same on ebay. like this, but if it is hydro tested and has air in it you're making out well.

I recently got a 20#, a 5#, a regulator, two cornies, a shank/faucet and some disconnects for $150. Again, not a fantastic deal, but decent.

One thing before you purchase, make sure the tank doesn't have Pepsi, Coke, or some other owner info. stamped into the bottle.

I bought a blue 20# CO2 tank and I didn't know about the owner stamp. Now I'm having a tough time getting it filled. The welding supply shops won't fill it as it has the Pepsi stamp. Do a search and you'll find other threads. Some areas are of with filling them, others won't touch em. Good Luck...

Hmmmmmmm, now where did I put that Bondo and Krylon... ? I wondered if that would work or not.... Thanks.

I went and picked it up...the guy used it for homebrew himself but did not need 2 20lb tanks. It was produced in 2005 by the Catalina Cylinders Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Cylinders and I did not see any pepsi or coke owner info on it. Unfortunately it was empty but hey, it was in great condition.
